@misc420,
Mate, I am not against PHD, what i am against is the reason to do it and wether to get a Dr, in front of your name and high salary were the only reasons for it.
Offcourse much of the research is done by PHD Doctors and yes thye are highly paid too , but trust me they are not much.
PHD take/consumes hell lot of time and during that time all you life revolves around your project. but at the end of the project when you get your PHD , how many of your finding will actually be used int he reall world.
One of my Chemistry teacher in College was PHD and it was to find new properties of wax produced by a candel?
and after 5 years of research she was finlay able to find out that there was an extra component which has neverbeen listed before. WoW that was some achivement. yes,
but can she relate to anythign that actully affected her findings=no.
and she was a horrible horrible chemistry teacher too and never was able to come to student level to tech them.
I am not saying that everyone is like that but alot of PHD's end up like that. I know quiet a few Pakistani PHD's who now a days drive Cab or cant find job in Australia. And trust me its not due to discrimination its becuase the PHD they did was not use full in real world for anyone.
But offcourse if some one is bright enough to make / change the world from it then offcourse go for it.
