Assalam-o-alaikum Pakwheelers.
I have noticed that most of the fuel stations in Lahore are selling crappy fuel that gives worst engine pick and mileage. Engine seems to be running heavy and powerless. However today I got my car refueled (Accidentally) from a Total petrol pump that is on Mcleod road. And I could feel immense difference in car's running. The performance seemed to have sky rocketed.
I rode my car around for half an hour just to see if this is persistent. Then went back home and brought my Suzuki GS-450E (1988 model) and got it refueled from the same petrol station. It also felt as if its engine had a new life blown into it. The difference was just too much and the engine felt a whole lot more powerful than before.
I had been refueling my vehicles from various petrol pumps before this (including various Total pumps as well) but this incident today kind of forced me to do some research on how to identify good fuel from bad fuel without actually trying it in my vehicles. I hope you guys must also have your experiences / tips to share with others on this extremely important topic. Why should we keep ruining our engines with substandard fuel? There must be a way to identify which pump is selling legit fuel and which is dumping crap down our fuel tanks!
Your ideas / suggestions in this regard are welcome.
