Dear all,
I've just recently got my hands on a 2015 Gli Auto. My query is with regard to its transmission. Their website and owners manual tell me its a 4 speed super ECT. My previous (2012) Gli manual's RPM would rest at close to 4k at 120 kmph in fifth gear. Now, I've got a four speed (albeit AT), and it's RPM reading is much lower, closer to 3k, at 120 kmph. Here's the query: How can a four speed transmission do 120 kmph at close to 3k RPM, whereas a five speed manual's rpms are almost 1k higher? Shouldn't it be the other way round?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this.
P.S., is it possible that the new Gli AT is a 5 speed ECT, and the website and owners manual are just outdated?
