I have a Land Cruiser 200 (JDM URJ202W) 2011 model. I have been reading about the new, higher octane fuel by PSO (Altron X) and how you need higher compression engines to make use of it.
I had the car imported from Japan myself and have only been filling it up with HOBC. What I needed to know was whether Altron X will be any better for this engine type compared to the previous HOBCs.
Also, I have noticed the fuel economy is terrible. It is not about monthly fuel costs, but I have to travel from Lahore to Islamabad on the M2 frequently, and at higher speeds (165kph-180kph) the low fuel light lights up even before reaching Islamabad. A couple of days ago I had to drive at 100kph for the last 50 odd kilometers on the M2 because I was worried I'd run out of fuel completely.
Driving at 120-150kph the car reaches Islamabad with fuel to spare.
I had German cars before this, some with smaller fuel tanks, and never had to worry about reaching Islamabad in a single tank.
Do you guys think the fuel economy in the car will improve with PSO's Altron X?
At the moment the car is filled up with HOBC at a Shell station.
