One reason given of this decline in majority of cars is increase of leasing/finance rate from 10-12% to 14-16%
In 2005-06 45000 used cars were imported. but now the demand and supply is balanced and in some cases the supply is higher than demand.
Toyota Motors account shows Rs.6.6billion, an amount collected through advance booking/payment.

Well this is what the newpaper syas but my view about Honda is that their Marketing Deptt sucks big time.They increased the price of city making it equal to XLI when they launched it in last jan/feb but after few months they cut down the price by Rs.40,000......Similar scenario can be seen in Honda Civic's case and there will be a cut down in it's price. and another reason is that CNG can't be installed in these cars. Now there will be an argumnet that City and Civic gives driving pleasure and if one can afford 0.8million and 1.6million respectively then the one can also bear fuel expenses......But believe me the no. of these kinda people is quite low.....Capital expense is easy to bear then the Regular expenditure. (shows my accting background :p)
The story behind the success of XLI and GLI in my view is that you can easily install CNG in it and it runs smoothly on it.
