KARACHI: The throat-cutting competition amongst the market players resulted in the decline of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices by Rs 7 per kilogramme in the domestic market. The prices have decreased to Rs 43 per kg as compared with Rs 50 per kg. The market company has declined around Rs 40-Rs 45 on 11.5 kg cylinder. The effects on prices turned out as the local consumption of LPG has been decreased substantially by the rickshaws and taxis because the commuters avoid travelling due to hot and humid weather in the city. LPG Distributors and Welfare Association Chairman Hadi Khan told Daily Times that marketing companies fuel production could not be utilised to its normal spending target, surging fuel stocks. However, he predicted that the fluctuation of the prices occur as the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) would make an announcement on June 3 following the import parity with international LPG marketing companies. staff report
