KARACHI: Indus Motor Company (IMC) held its 14th Annual Kaizen Convention recently at the Karachi Expo Centre.
Over 2,000 people including IMC vendors, dealers and business partners, government officials and the entire team of IMC attended the convention.
While congratulating IMC’s efforts on achieving the milestone of 50,000 vehicles sales in a year, Shahab Anwar Khwaja, Federal Secretary Ministry of Industries, appreciated the company’s implementation of Kaizen and the world famous Toyota Production System, noting that the Kaizen culture was also being implemented at the company’s vendors and dealerships. Parvez Ghias, CEO Indus Motor, highlighted the positive role of Kaizen at IMC and amongst the company’s dealer and vendor family. Taken from the Japanese words Kai, meaning ‘change’, and Zen, meaning ‘better’, Kaizen is an effective management tool employed globally. Improvement in product quality, process economy, teamwork and safety are the main benefits of Kaizen. He recapped the accomplishments of the company during the past year and also shared the objectives for the coming year. staff report
