Man i dont get it !,
Today one gentleman came to me who was brought by a young chap, was his uncle, tht gentleman took a very good inspection and drive of my car along with tht traditional mechanic-cum-denter-cum-painter, he said the car was 'ok'. I have an 88 reconditioned 97 charade which is in quite original condition.
After tht he gave a demand which was less than my asking demand for about 10-15 Ks, i already lowered my demand too much just because of the enthusiasm tht young chap showed for the car, i could easily understand his urge and the way he was thinking for it, which was soo like myself 2 yrs back when i bought it. I soooo wanted to give it to him no matter wht, as i knew he shared the exact passion for charade as any charade lover, but then something happened which made me mad (jissay meri totally hatt gayee 'as we say it).
His uncle started comparing my charade with his 98 khyber in which they came, the car was in greenish blue colour. He just talked and talked about tht khyber's goodness, the ride, the resale value, the way he goes hyderabad daily in it, her highness's fuel consumption and blah blah blah, for that 15 ks difference ??? i just listened quitely as they after all were my guests and came for a purpose i wanted them to come.
I soo wanted to tell him tht there is no comparison of the two cars. I soo wanted to tell him tht this is about passion and owning something, not just a thing b/w dealers. Tht the way tht boy's eyes lit up to see something which clearly looked like his dream ride, may b since his childhood like me. Tht the colour of his khyber is as lame as his point of views about things, which i dont wanna buy even if i was blind. Tht the young chap is thinking beyong him. Tht i would never want to buy his khyber no matter wht price he quotes me. I soo wanted to tell him that he is reciting the same lines a typical Pakistani brain is bound to these days which is set to buy crap by an old and well planned propaganda.
But i said nothing and they left, i didn't even bothered to ask them if it was their final offer, altough the man was expecting much after his marvelous speech tht he made on his khyber whose drive and the colour's depression infected greatly upon his own life. And i know im not gonna call them again. Just the thing which bothered me was tht last look in tht young man's eyes, which was pretty diminishing.
I really dont get it tht in wht automobile age we are living or bound to live and when we'll gonna come out of it. I hope soon.
