back in the 90's the 5.0L ford mustangs of hassanali hashwani were "the muscle" on the roads:

one day a couple of us thought about having a "friendly" wiht the 6.9 and seeing what would happen. well to cut a long story short the LX mustang in the link above was mix-and-matched with hashwanis other mustang (a GT cabrio) in order to get it looking and running perfectly.
there was a test run in which i was in the mustang and a friend drive the 6.9 from the base of constitution avenue till the round about. initially the mustand flew off (manual 5 speed Vs auto 3 speed) but at around 80-100km/h the 6.9 was gaining ground on it as if the mustang was standing still!!
after the "friendly", it was decided that we'd all go to the stadium as there was no traffic and less muppets. in the stadium 3 races took place. it was decided that in order to compensate for the 6.9's extra weight and 3 speed auto that the race woudl start from 100km/h so both cars were on a rolling start.
people had come from all over the city by then and even some bikers from KHI and LHR (these are the guys with 1000CC+ bikes back then). 3 out of 3 times the 6.9 crossed the finish line ahead of the mustang.
shortly after this event the haswanis imported a ferrari 348 and a toyota supra, and we got our hands on a JDM 3000GT, 5.7L camaro IROC Z, and a 300ZX turbo,.... till 180km/h we always had the other cars in the rear view mirror, and by then the race was usually over anyways.
sadly after the loss of a very close friend i swore never to take part in street racing again, as did the rest of us, we had all learned an important and valuable lesson,... all before the age of 21.
