I have a mitsubishi alternator 70A in my car. The problem is it only gives 35-40 A at max rpm. I was thinking maybe i could use a smaller pulley. What should i do to get max Amp.
How are you measuring the amps ?
I hope you know that most new alternators have a built-in regulator to control the flow of volts and amps, so if there is a requirement of 35A, the alternator will produce only 35A and not 70A..
@aamir_aijaz
I agreed wid Memphis.BTW is it istalled in ur Mehran? One more thing i will recomend u to check is that how much voltage are u geting at Idle RPM & at Maximum RPM? If the out put voltage of Genegrator are ~14 V at idle RPM then for sure there is no major mismatch in Pulley.
@aamirwhy do you need so much current in your car?70amp is a way too high!
The electricitian checked voltage it was 13.4v at idle with lights and sub off. And 11.2V with everything on.
err, i get 14+ volts with everything runnin on idle
Whats the maximum amp alternator i can locally get into mehran? I need a 100-120Amp Alt.
