retail consumption is included in GDP calulaction as we all know.
to work out a gdp :
GDP= consumption + investment + (government spending) + (exports ? imports).
consumption means "is total personal consumption expenditure, i.e., the purchase of currently produced goods and services out of income, out of savings (net worth), or from borrowed funds. It refers to that part of disposable income (income after taxes paid and payments received) that does not go to saving" wikipedia.
does this include in a retail shop that are imported and then sold at a retail shop,
TO PUT IT SIMPLE
when i go to a shop and buy a good, thats my consumption.
so that consumption is included in the GDP,
but say that good i bought was imported, is that consumption of mine still included in the GDP, as i bought it in a retail shop in this country, and it was my consumption?
