Message of Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Khawaja Muhammad Asif
ISLAMABAD, Apr 7 (APP): Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Khawaja Muhammad Asif has welcomed the initiative of Energy Update and LPG Association of Pakistan in organizing the second International exhibition and conference on LPG industry LPG EXPOCON.
In his message, the Minister said, “I feel that there is an urgent need to encourage the use of alternative fuels that can decrease Pakistan’s dependence on fossil fuels, which are severely pollute environment.”
The Minister said Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is not only a clean fuel but also considered as common man’s energy source especially in those areas where piped gas is not available.
The use of LPG is also being encouraged in automobiles in Pakistan, he added.
The Minister said LPG sector has exhibited tremendous growth since it was deregulated eight years ago.
He said the rising numbers of LPG producers, importers, transportation companies, marketing companies, storage tank and cylinder manufactures and distributors have made this sector highly competitive to the advantage of the LPG consumers.
“I hope that LPG EXPOCON-08 will provide a platform to local producers and international and local suppliers to deliberate upon latest advancements being made and utilized worldwide,” he said.
