I have been collecting information from pakwheels and some installers on this subject.
Of the 4 cng installers i have talked to 3 had reservations about converting my steermatic to cng. Of the 3 who had reservations one who is supposedly among the busiest installers in lahore refused outright. The other 2 said that they have installed with some success but there have been tranny issues on some vehicles.
The only installer who was confident about the conversion of my steermatic and made assurances that there will be no subsequent tranny issues was the least famous of the lot. He did have a couple of satisfied customers and on my request contacted both of them. I asked them for feedback and they seemed happy enough. The conversions werent very recent with one having been driven over 30 k kilometers after cng installation.
The standard set up at this workshop for conversion of auto city's was neotek advancer and either a neotek or zetronic emulator with landirenzo regulator. He did not install lambda's and was honest enough to admit that he wasnt familiar with the technique of installing lambda closed loop systems.
