I have a civic 97 exi. I bought it a couple of years back from someone. At that time it had 14 inch tyres and had some packing/spacers in both front as well as back shock absorbers.
I changed the rims to 15 inchers and put the tyre 60/15/195. and also installed cng. The ride was fine but someone gave me a suggestion at that thime I should remove the spacers and instead go for bigger coil springs because there will be a possibility of tyres of body touching when 3 people will sit at the back. Anyway, i got the shocks as well as the coil springs changed and went for the bigger ones. What happened that my ride height went up which i didnt like plus it was so stiffer and bumpy as you were riding a donkey cart.
Then after an year i have again changed the shock absorbers and coil springs to original ones ( got them from bilal Gunj) and added no spacers.
The ride is so much comforable and low also. But the problem is that on my way to home there are so many speed brakers and whatever i do the cars body touches the speed breakers from the middle. Not at all the speed breaker but on quite a couple of. having only two people max in the car and back seat empty. Even the front mud flap (original) also touched the speed brakers. The back mud flapper does not or i havent tried yet with people onboard at back seat.
What to do? should i add spacers again on back and front? but then my rides height will be increased plus i have heard it gives trouble at higher speed on motorway etc.
I am so confused. Already spent much on all this. I dont want to go for harder or longer springs as the ride gets bumpy and uncomfortable.
Please any serious suggestions.
