It'll cost around CHF26000 per semester( around 18-20 weeks) in most institutes in Switzerland.
Glion, LaRoches slightly more expensive and upto CHF32000 per semester.
This includes everything : Uniform, tuition , materials , food , basic accommodation.
These places are money making machines, most will take anyone and everyone.
Glion may be a little more strict in admissions.
Basically : High school certificates ( O, A Level ), TOEFL (although i didn't do it and still got in), a recommendation or two.
I just sent my O/A Level certificate and 2 recommendations and they accepted me.
Another place is Ecole Hotelier de Lausanne, also considered one of the best BUT they have more requirements.
I think you may have heard of Cornell in New York, but thats an Ivy league college so getting in is tough as hell.
Manchester Metropolitan University has a pretty decent hotel management program in the UK, costs around 8000 pounds a year IF im not wrong. Tuition only though.
The plus side in Switzerland is that in the first year you have to do service and you learn the fine dining service procedures : both in theory and practical.
How to pour wine, napkin foldings , flambeing and lots of other stuff. Its fun , very useful and interesting.
They have a separate restaurant for this with all the required materials. that way its better than a university.
Studying in a hotel school in Switzerland is really different than being in a "normal" college. Limited number of people, really nice environment and the courses are much shorter. Wear a suit everyday, more rules but overall a really good learning experience.
You can do your BA in 3 years then MBA in half a year.
3.5 yeras you're fully qualified.
Btw those 3.5 years include one year worth of internship.
You do 6 months after the first semester then another six months after the 2nd semester ( in most places this is the procedure)
If you already have experience in service and front desk then you can finish the course in 2.5 years with an MBA.
Some places the program is slightly different, may be a bit longer , different semester structure but you HAVE to do an internship(paid) if you dont already have practical experience working in a hotel.
