I have a 2007 Honda City manual and was afraid to get it converted too. It took over 25000km of mileage before i got it converted. now the vehicle has 42000 km
The difference between me and other people was that i did my homework, bought all the kit components myself ( all genuine and specifically designed for Honda City Idsi application) and than had an expert install it ( not from a road side shop). The result is that i am satisfied.
When i got the cng installed, the mathematics was in favor of getting a cng kit . Now with reduction in gas prices the math has become a bit dubious. It all comes down to how much you really drive and upon your budget. If you drive less than you wont be able to recoup your cng kit cost.
Now to the issue of getting CNG in Honda City Vario. Vario Transmission is an extremely sophisticated piece of machinery. The difference between a Vario(known as CVT in technical terms) is that it is optimized to obtain maximum efficiency from the engine as opposed to a regular gear based Automatic. The down side of a CVT is that one has to be careful with transmission and engine maintainance due to the close tolerences and high precision in the CVT gear Box.
The recomended Kit for a honda city vario is landi Renzo Omegas . The installation of this kit would run you about Rs. 10,000 more than a regualr kit but your vehicle would run correctly and you wont have to worry about any issues that some people have outlined above.
I strongly reccomend that you contact the Landi Renzo Representative Office in karachi ( also known as LR Pak). They would be able to guide you properly, [provide you with the kit as well as have an expert to get the kit installed. ( be wary of third parties claiming to know how to install kits in a highly sophiticated car like yours. there is a difference between installing a kit and installing it correctly.
