Lahore – Quetta – Ziarat – Lahore on Daewoo Racer
In the second week of December 2008 I traveled to Quetta Valley along with my family. We started our journey from Lahore on the evening of December 07, 2008 around 4:25 PM in my Daewoo Racer and reached Multan at 10:26 PM and stayed for the night, started early next day around 4:30 AM. The original plan was to go on to DG Khan to Rakhni to Loralie to Khanozai to Quetta but I was told that road from Rakhni to Loralie is in very bad condition and and it takes around 11 hours to reach Loralie and I was further told that old and fragile cars like mine cannot travel on this road. So heavy heartedly I decided to take the National Highway and reached Sibi around 8:45 PM stayed there for the night.
The road conditioned worsened as we entered Sindh and persisted till Jacobabad Bypass. The road was so bad just after Shikarpur that one of my tyer cracked due to some stone on the road, it caused a delay of around 2 to 3 hours as there was no tyre repair shop till Dera Murad Jamali. Had this problem not occurred I would be in Quetta by the night fall.
By the grace of Almighty Allah on our way back we completed the journey in a single lag i.e. without any night stay. We started from Quetta at 5:46 AM and reached Lahore just after midnight around 1:01 AM without any problem.
Following is a table of distances and time consumed between various destinations.
