    mm well believe u me it is an excellent car.. v had two official lancers an year ago.. both were 1.6 litres.. one was auto tranny n other was manual.. both were company maintained cars but yeah u heard rite.. its maintainance is way tooo expensive.. only one side skirt price was Rs. 25,000.. dun know the current price.. one rear light cost rs. 9,000... rear bumper was of rs. 11,000.. i m sure the prices wud have gone much higher now.. n yeah one thing more.. the auto tranny was CNG fitted so we used to drive it on CNG.. As u know official drivers they ruined the car like pushing the car on cng and one day its tranmission got faulty.. v took it to mitsubishi, they said the gear has been broken and u have to replace it.. the estimate they gave was quiet shocking and u might not belive.. it was SIX LAKh rupees only .. 5 lac n 50 thousand was the gear cost and 50,000 was labour charges.. we took the car out and changed the gear from normal workshop and the gear+labor costed 1 lac and fifty thousand ruppess.. still it was expensive.. car is no doubt awesome.. corolla and civics are nothing infront of lancer.. the only problem is resale value and maintainance

    @hashimraja
    purchase a repainted lancer for rs 6lack instead. swap the gearbox and enjoy free of cost spares for the rest of your life. simple!
    safety first. always wear seatbelts.

    basicly, if u get a complete lancer its actualy cheaper then if u go to buy it peice by peice.
    Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

    My story is very similar to what @hasham has said. Our office has a 1.6 auto tranny lancer which was although on petrol, but was under use by company driver. Its transmission got damaged somehow within 2-3 years time and the estimate we got from mitsubishi motors was above 550,000 lacs.

    i dont know what you guys are talking about.

    he is asking for maintenance

    that means oil change tuning wheel balancing etc.

    it does not include if you screw the transmission etc etc.

    and yes if any civic faces this transmission problem then i think honda will give a similar type of an estimate
    RIP
