Thumbs down Lancer 1.3 (2006) Fuel pump?

My lancer (which I now run on CNG) was perfectly fine yesterday night.

But today, in the morning it wouldn't start! I thought something is wrong with the battery but the electrician cam, checked everything, charged the battery and then started it direct on CNG.. He said the FUEL PUMP is not working!! its not pumping petrol (there is petrol in my tank.)

Now, could it be fuel pump? If yes, what would be the cost of replacing it? where can i get a new / used (original) one etc etc

And, what other problems could it have??

    Thanks..

this can happen if u keep fuel levels low. Basically fuel in tank helps pump to cool down. Also fuel pump does not stop working in efi cars even on cng so they are on duty at all times.
Keep a cool head and wear seatbelts!

There could be " kachra" in ur fuel pump line. My cousin had the same problem and the electrician suggested to change the fuel pump. He shoed it to another electrician and he just took out the kachra in the line and everything was fine after that till day.

this is what my electrician told me too!! he said he can change the wiring so that if its on CNG, the fuel pump will stop! is that a wise thing to do? mess with the original wiring??
