Default Lancer 2006 GLX AC trips over and again

I have a Lancer 2006 GLX. I have noted that whenever I switch on the AC, in may be like 1st or 2nd gear, and when i raise the rpm to shift to next gear, the car's AC would trip (shut down automatically, though the AC button's light would stay on and the fan would be running) and then after a few seconds the AC would start again.

This also happens when the car is climbing, a bridge etc i.e. when RPMs are raised. The mechanic told me that it's natural to save upon the load on engine, but I am not convinced.

    Any ideas?

    ^^ R u crazy??

OP - No need to mess up with the AC wirining to get some manual thing, as lancer has a complicated wiring.
And about the AC triping thing at higher rpms - thats 100% normal. Compressor clutch disengage the AC when its pulley feels a sudden rise in RPM.

I recently traveled 1000 km on this car in 2 days. The AC literally screwed me this time, especially when the sun was high. Also, the road on I was traveling was broken so I had to shift the gears every now and then and the RPMs would rise quite often. Reluctantly, the AC was tripping for 5 times within one minute. It was a terrible experience, but when the weather was right, the AC was so powerful (despite of tripping at the same rate) that I would shiver.

    Now what?

Due to this reason, i sold my lancer 1.6 GLX.
Neways, its not Normal, I hope you also experienced this issue on sudden basis as it was not there before.

Get it checked from Mitsu dealership. For your info, they advised me to changed the ac compressor as its life is finished now.

Yes, Lancer is a great car to keep and drive, but on the same hand have some very complicated issues.

the compressor has got a safety switch that does this and also there is a high pressure safety cut. If the gas charge is low or high the compressor will cut out to save its valve plates. If the compressor discharge is too high pressure it will cut it out until the system relieves its high pressure. (this is caused by ineffecient heat discharge at the condenser).

thats why you are supposed to "weigh" the gas charge to exact spec as printed on the sticker in the engine room. You cannot guess the charge or you will have to live with this phenomenon.
