Default mitsubishi EK-wagon fuel economy (luv fr the car turning badly into hatred)

i have a mitsubishi Ek wagon 2009 model. Got it 2 months back only 9k driven. loved the car like hell. but i dont know whts worng with this thing that it doesnt give me above 12km/Litre. i used to b heavy on the pedal but stopd doin tht nd nw use damn light foot but still the same problem.
plugs are in great condition, engine oil was changed but no difference at all.
please tell me wht to do to make the economy better coz its o no use to keep a 660cc car when its gonna b the same on fuel as a 1800cc car.

Its your choice to beleive a diagnosis or not. If you believe that you can actually block the convertor with carbon soot or melt the ceramic core - then your engine would actually be blowing black smoke like an overly fuelled diesel.

Even diesel engine converters do not choke up so early, they can choke but only if the engine never gets up to speed to heat up the converter as the diesel engine has a very cool exhaust compared to a petrol engine.

In my experience with these Kei cars - Even with correctly operating parameters - driving it normally. i.e. take small roads onto Shahrah-e-Pakistan, turn to Sh Faisal corridor, then on Shahrah-e-Faisal. Scoot along briskly like you would in any normal car, they could only afford a max of 11 or 13 km/lit. And if for some reason your cooling system gave up while driving in excess of 100 km/h - you have less than 15 seconds to shut down - because the engine rpm is too high and the engine is under great stress.

its not like u dont get fuel ecnonomy on these 660 cc cars , the thing is the expectations r too high , when a local 1000 alto produces same hp as the japanese 660 cc , we can easily compare the engine capability of 660 car , then why to expect mileages like 17 n 18 , if u get around 12 from a auto car in city driving like pakistan , its not bad

what i have been told is that these kei cars are not meant for economy, instead this is a type of car on which there is no tax in japan, no parking tax nothing, thats y ppl over there bought this category of car, here the scenario is different
A "cool dude" who says civic is the best car in the universe actually owns a CD 70!

changing spark plugs do not ensure economy, they only affect when the old parts were completely worn out, the valve clearances in todays engines stay in spec for a long time, mostly because they have very hard valve seats and also because they have bucket lifters over valves.

But - as I always tell people these cars give absolutely horrible fuel mileage, people expect something like 20 or above kms/lit from it, Its simply not possible - specially if the engine is turbocharged. If you want economy use a proper engine like a turbodiesel, my little 1.6 litre turbodiesel would return me above 22 km/lit come hell or high water.

sir, MASHALLAH u hav alooot of knowledge about cars so tell me which car should i go for? wht i am looking for is fuel economy and also power wen i need it! No cng but on petrol, most probably. i will b changing car in max december. the options i was thinking about was idsi city (as it is really good on fuel) or civic vti (eagle eye shape) in manual. as my czn has it and he easily gets about 15kms on it in city wid ac nd about 17 without ac.

but i think u can guide me well in this matter, dont wanna do a blunder again
