Default Mitsubishi Lancer 2007 Station wagon help

    Hi

as the topic says.... i have recently bought a mitsu lancer station wagon 2007. the car has a 4G15 AT engine. i want to learn as much as possible about how to improve the performance and life of the engine. so please share whatever you can here. i also have following questions

    1. currently i think i am not getting a good economy out of it. i read somewhere that it might be because japanese cars are tuned to run on a higher octane fuel than what is locally available. any work around that?

    2. i want to change the rear seat of the car from the bench seats we usually get and probably put in a lancer's back seat in. i suppose that should be possible without changing the mounts. anyone tried that?

    3. the tires i got with it are 165r13 6prlt. i have deciphered it to be 6 ply rating, light truck. i want to put in new tires on a 14" rim. what size should i go for. i was thinking 185/65/r14.

any other stuff i can do? no ricer or shashka or maaadeefying stuff please

Mistu and gas guzzlers ? I was getting 12.5Km/Ltr with 4G92 Mivec, 13Km/Ltr with 4G93 and now 10.5-11Km/Ltr with 4G63T, with full paddle.

I did this in my lancer with stock engine, I added an adjustable fpr and removed the stock fpr and locked at 20Psi, it really helped me with fuel consumption.

Wideband with FPR for normal use ? Not necessarily just lock it at 20-22Psi, as these engines are with knock sensor, they'll retard the ignition timing if there is even a minor knock.

FPR means Fuel Pressure Regulator, projector headlights are available but personally I always prefer stock headlights.

Congrats bro on the new car! Baleno's replacement or an addition?

Engine bay pic is definitely needed! Its probably the 90hp 1.5L engine. A bit underpowered in my opinion, so don't be expecting miracles!

    1. Use liqui moly engine flush before your next oil change, then use a good API SL/M semi-syth oil such as shell helix (yellow/green pack)

    2. Use petrol from Total parco stations - PARCO produces better petrol than others (less knocking in my car's jdm swap).

    3. As for tires, keep the overall diameter as close to stock as possible. One inch increase in rim size, you'll have to decrease sidewall width. So if stock ones are 165/60r13 then for a 185 width tire you should aim for 185/55r14.

    No idea about seat swap.

Again, definitely need an engine-bay picture! Actually car exterior pics would interest everyone too.

the car has 4g15 in it and trust me it doesnt feel underpowered. combine that with a CVT and the car's acceleration is simply sweet. it is not as good as the baleno but i am not complaining.

the thing about the tire size is that its not 165/60/r13 but 165/r13/6PRLT. so i dont know the exact overall diameter. i did a rough estimate by putting a 185/65/r14 next to it and they seemed to be of the same size. i am also thinking that since the original tire has 6 ply rating, i should look for a tire with some good weight carrying capacity.

i think i will visit chah sultan one of these days to check for lancer rear seat and its fitment. hope its bolt on fit cos i dont wanna do any alterations to the car.

i am also looking into the possibility of finding the 4g15t version of the engine but thats for a much later stage.
