Default Engine Oil Capacity for Mitsubishi Lancer 1.3 GLX 2006

    AOA
Can someone please me what is the Engine Oil Capacity for Mitsubishi Lancer 1.3 GLX 2006 model?
According to my calculation, when I fill it up with 3.5 or 4 liters, it's oil gauge shows that it is overfilled. I bought the car second hand so I am not sure if the gauge is original or not, so can decide if it shows the levels correctly. But when I fill it up with 3 or 3.25 liters, the gauge shows the level correctly.

If its 4g13, then its actual oil capacity is 3.6L with oil filter.
I know because I am owning this one.

For 4g18, I guess it will take little more like 3.7 or 3.8L.

First make sure which engine your car has?
Fill it 3.5L alongwith filter. Start the car for a minute and then check the oil level again.

no. its 3.6L with filter. I know it because i am owning a Lancer 1300cc since more than an year.
as in the oil change, the previous oil doesn't come out 100% and remain in some tiny oil galleries.
so i always buy 4L bottle, pour 3.5 and keep 0.5L with me.

You may be right, but what I came to know during my online search is that it takes 3.3 L with filter. I also also own a Lancer 1.3 GLX. When I put 4 L in it, its gauge shows 'over'. Then normally I used to fill it with 3.5 L. During my last oil change, I filled it with 3.25 L.

BTW, as you said that when we change the oil, not all the previous oil comes out, then it means that the new quantity of oil should be as much less, no?

No. The oil capacities are already measured after taking such points (of oil galleries) into consideration.
