Default Buying a Car (Mitsubishi Lancer GL)

Hey every1. Just wanted some advice. I have been thinking of selling off my Baleno 04 CNG and buying a new car. At first couldn't make up my mind which car to buy (City/ Liana/ Corolla GLI). But keeping in mind the pathetic quality of all local cars, I am now thinking of buying a Lancer.

I would appreciate if ppl owning a Lancer can advise me whether I should go for it. I have gotten tired of CNG so will run it on petrol and will buy the GL not GLX. How's the fuel consumption (figures please) and the quality of ride. Is buying the GL ok or should I opt for GLX (both 1.3l)?

    Waiting for your inputs.

First of all i want to say that you are making a really good decision.
Well b/w GL and GLX thers only cosmetic differences really.
I would opt for the GLX cause it has one of the best interiors in its class.
Basically if u want to be practical get the GL or otherwise GLX. But the good news is (as u prbly already knw) the prices have come down so it would be even better to go for GLX , now its 1lak cheaper.

My cousin has the GLX and basically i love it. Infact i give him my Steermatic and drive the Lancer myself. Ride is great , interior ofcourse , . good brakes. Unlike local cars thers no squeaks or rattles . And it just feels different.
Only one thing , wit the A/C pick is'nt so good but thts the same with all 1.3L i.e Corolla , City etc.
In the city it gives him 14km/l without A/C. but keep n mind the car has done over 10000km . In the beginning it will do less.
Dnt knw how it does on long runs , prbly 16-17km/l,
Parts are expensive but are easily available.
Its probably the best 1.3l in Pakistan. Go for it.

    Salam

Lancer is far better no doubt about it, but if you are concerned with the resale then don't buy Lancer. Its sad but its true that Lancer has real bad resale. Parts are expensive and available in bigger cities if at any remote area your car has some problem then parts will be a problem. Whereas local cars parts are easily available everywhere. So keep in your mind that after buying a car you have to maintain it also. Honda City will give you same mileage on petrol, has better resale, braking and comfort is better than Corolla. Even the transmission system in Lancer and City, both auto is almost same i.e. CVT.

Its all your choice but decide wisely.

Also visit the Proton Showroom and have a look at their Gen2 1.3 at Rs.849,000/- and automatic at 898,000/-.
