Default Having problem with LANCER 1.6 GLX A/T CNG

    Hi,

Need some help as its my first time with CNG driving in my new Lancer. On petrol it runs great - on CNG there's not much of a difference besides the pickup - which I would say is just 10-15% slower (which is ok - considering the cost cut)

My car is just one day old as of today with about 80-90kms on the dial.. Mostly I have been driving it on petrol, however today I tried to switch it over to CNG - the experience was good as I mentioned above. The problem that I faced was that the power just started dieing whenever I stopped in idle mode - must mention that this only happend a few times ?

Need some expert suggestions on what setting if needed need to be done? or is this some serious problem ? Also need a suggestion on the fuel - should I use just Hi-Octane or Mixed or just Super ? Lastly, is it ok if I start driving it on CNG before the 1000kms are completed ?

Would be greatful to useful feedbacks ?

    Thanks!

Its not a big worrie, I myself have the same car. During the first 1000 KM, it happened a bit but once u start driving it on CNG regularly, the problem shud go away. Just happens in the initial period.

I started driving mine on cNG after 300KM and its ran for almost 5100 KM now and no problem whatsoever. Its giving me around 110-120 without AC in the city but with AC its around 90-100. Do let me know of your average later on.

So, no problem at all with what you are facing. Need any other help, do get back to me.

    Hi,

I have the same car its been driven by my wife, she faced few problems at start but okay now, car just needed setting after a run of about 500 KMs. Get the setting done from expert, can be other than Mitsubishi, for petrol cant say anything, normally its simple super, no high octane, take special care of air filter with CNG, clean it regularly, say weekly if in lahore or Karachi. Average is okay 90 to 100 with AC.

Just got my 1.6 glx cvt with ff cng. Frankly i don't like cvt that much it doesn't feel good like the altis auto i have. it feels like the car is underpowered (which it is) and it's trying to scream ! (which it does alot !) anyhoo haven't tried it on cng yet from what i heard you should shift to cng after at least 2 3 thousand kms ? if someone could confirm that ?

I also have 1.6A/T GV. It has done about 2000Km. The average is around 90-100Km with AC but i do push my car a little. I also switched to CNG after about 400Km after consulting mitsubishi dealers, as they suggested that i could run the car on cng right after purchase. I some times also drive on petrol and am using normal super.

@ All Lancer 1.6 Lancer owners!

A friend is considering buying 1.6 Lancer manual CNG. Pls give your valuable inputs regarding the overall performance of the car. I have read the comments about CNG and that behaviour is normal with CNG I guess! But I am a bit worried about the underpower comment? Does it feel underpowered on petrol also?

How is the build quality? Driving comfort etc. in comparison with other available compacts?

well it does feel weird/underpowered on cvt but i test drove the manual car and it drives GREAT ! handling is superb and the drive is really soft. Build quality is great too ! haven't tried teh factory fitted cng yet but the test car i drove was manual on cng and it drove great too as a fellow pakwheeler mentioned it's a bit slower pick on cng but overall the car is of great value ! just need to add a mp3 player to the car !

Got Lancer 1.6 GLX GV MT SR, superb soft drive. Initially the car was not switched to CNG rather it continueed running on patrol. One visit to Mitsubishi fixed the problem. It gives me 100-120 km in one filling with AC in local.
Once I filled it from the start of Motorway and the CNG tank got empty when It had crossed the salt range.
