    Default Cholistan trip

    I am planning a short biking desert trip of Cholistan on the 18th of February. Shall depart on train/bus for Bahawalpur in the evening.
    Day 1. Bahawalpur. (PTDC)
    Day 2. Fort Darawar. (Rest House or camping)
    Day 3. Desert drive till Rahimyar Khan.
    Day 4. Cross the river and drive to Uch Shariff.
    Day 5. Drive to Multan and get a train/bus for Lahore.
    fficeffice" />
    Final details will be settled with the advice of the PTDC manager Mr. Niazi.

    Suggestions and advices are very welcome.

    Cholistan Jeep rally is being organised by TDCP with the help of army and rangers on 25-27 or 26-28 February.
    I'm not sure if we should go around that time because bikers arent invited?

    I think you are right. Are you going alone?

    Bike may be booked on train for Bwp or multan. it will cost somewhat 300/-. You will require Police 15 clearance certificate and photocopy of documents

    @Rana Sherdil
    We plan to put the bikes in either Shams express for Multan or Lahore-Karachi trains for Bahawalpur. This way we can have a good nights sleep while travelling. Putting them in the belly of Nishi bus is a bit expensive but more predictable.
    A few members of PBC might be joining me for the trip.

    @Love Bikes
    Thanks for your good wishes. We are gonna miss you.

    @Caio
    We're gonna drive our bikes specially in the desert. I have refurbished 2 Kawasaki KE175 trails specially for this purpose. Certainly need your good wishes.

    Good luck and hope to camp together in the desert. I think I have to rent a car for two days.

    @Imran Bhatti & Bilal Zubairi
    Please confirm your participation for the trip.
    If possible lets get some information about the trains to Bahawalpur (only 40-50 kms from Drawar fort) we can book bikes in.
    Shams express to Multan has good timings(11.45pm-5.00am) but 100 kms from Bahawalpur.

    As per discussion & availability dates to accommodate max participants below mention plan has been finalized,

    • Departure Date/Time: 3rd March 2300 Hrs (Thursday Night To avoid N5 highway traffic & have sleep full night we will go via Shah Shams Express to Multan along with bikes booked into Cargo)
    • In morning 4th March we will move towards Derawer Fort ~150 Km ride from Multan will explore fort & some nearby desert area & stay there for night in Camps.
    • Next Day 5th Marc will further explore desert track or move towards the Kot Mithan depends on mutual consent. Again camping in night.
    • 6 March will be spend exploring Rahimyar or nearby areas however final decision will be on spot as per mutual consent
    • 7 March move back to Lahore via Train.

    Note: some of the member may plan direct from Lahore to Derawer via Kahnewal & Bahwalpur (~450 Km ride) so if this plan got matured than those members have to Leave Lahore on Thursday Morning & will stay in Bahwal Pur at PTDC or some other hotel & on Friday 5th March they will receive other particapnts arriving from train & will move towards Derawer.

    SO far Confrim Particapants are,

    Name Nick Ride
    Mr. Omar Khan (khanmomar) KE 175
    Mr. Tahir Saleem (elixir83) KE 175
    Mr. Bilal Zubery GS 150
    Mr. Mustafeez (Star2) GS 150
    Mr. Imran Bhatti (me) GS 150

    Bikes Brake, Chain Sproket, Side view mirrors Lights etc should be installed & working.

    Considering the specific requirment of trip Sleeping Bags are must for every individual. Camp can be shared depending on size however sharing if planed should be clearly comunicated to others.

    Approx Train fare with sleeping birth & Motor bike cargo would be 1000~1500 from Lahore to Multan & Multan to LAhore

    Gentlemen, please dont make the old man do all the maintenance works of different bikes alone; would be unfair. Please take the lead and get the works done of 1 bike each.
    All bikes need maintenance of different levels.
