Default Solo Flight North Pakistan 2011 - Biking, Hiking, Hitchhiking, Jeep Safari & NATCO

Alhamdullillah, I have completed my North Trip alone. 16.07.2011 to 30.07.2011 alone. Joined 4 groups in way. Enjoyed a lot. Earned friends and memories.

I have travalled from Multan to Mansehra in Shalimar AC Coach with bike loaded on top.

From Mansehra I have started my biking trip to Naran and Jalkhad, Chilas, Gilgit. Then visited Hunza Duikar (Eagle Nest), Karimabad and Ataabad Lake.

On return from Hunza I have visited Naltar lake on bike alone.

After return to Gilgit from Naltar, I parked my bike in Jamal Hotel and set off via NATCO to Skardu. From Skardu visited Sadpara Deosai, Chillam and Astore.

From Astore I went Raikot, visited fairy meadow and returned back to Gilgit. From Gilgit visited Yaseen Valley. From Yaseen returned back to Gilgit. and there on Public Transport Coaster returned to Rawalpindi.

From Rawalpindi I have visited Nathia Gali and back to Pindi. From Pindi via Skyways started Journey to Home (Multan)

    Thanks

    1. Gilgit to Naran Public Transport par around 1000 hoga.
    2. Astore to Raikot 100 ya 200 (You have to move via Astore Pindi bus)
    3. Gilgit to Skardu I think 500 ya 600 (A lot of hiace services NATCO and other)
    4. Raikot to Jaglot Rs. 30 (You have to get some local taxi... or some bus coming from Pindi side) you should be lucky. )
    5. Raikot to Gilgit 200 ya 300 (You have to get some local taxi... or some bus coming from Pindi side) you should be lucky. )

Ask Police man at Raikot Bridge to help you. otherwise no bus will stop for you.

    Thank a lot.

    Its ordinary Google Earth.

In Google Earth use Tools\Ruler for the line distance.

    For this 3-D view.

Press Control Key.... and Hold Mouse Left click button and move the mouse...

    Thanks

Yes this way is Kel, Shountar Top, Rattu Astore. But it was a trek. Now heard some news of road and a tunnel being built there. But there is no news of completion date/work status of this road.

Currenntly its better that you back to Muzaffarabad and from there, you can go to Balakot and Mansehra for onward journey. Balakot and Mansehra are very near to Muzaffarabad.

The recommended family destinations are Hunza and Naran. Other places have long travelling, hectic etc other problems.

    Transport Timings:
If you going on PT (Public Transport), remembers, for most of the areas, the PT ply very early in morning and even in afternoon you don't have any option for PT for smaller areas.

    Max Trip Duration:
Max trip duration should be 10 days, after that, you will feel home sickness and boredum. and things don't remain beautiful....

    You are right...

But you must on 4x4 to cross Noori Top.

No public transport available on this route.

The main beauty to enjoy of Neelum is travel on Neelum Road. The beauty is not restricted to Town Sharda Kel... It is scattered all the way... So it will be a fun to come back through Neelum Road

Another info I want to share with the PW members that a new road is under construction to connect Ratti Gali Lake (Barkatia Jheel) to Dawarian. This road will further cross the Ratti Gali Pass and connected with Burawai Kaghan.

This road name is Barkatia Road. The Ratti Gali Lake is also renamed as Barkatia Jheel.

The main theme is to attract the tourist to Neelum as the most tourist go to Kaghan. (They consider that this is mainly due accessibility of Lake Saif ul Malook, whereas no lake of the Neelum Valley is easily accisible through any vehicle.

As so so many other said, I wish I could visit these places atleast once in life time. however every time I plan, circumstances force me to go against.

Now I have planned to go there in Summer 2013 with full family. because I have already utilised this year leaves.

Once again a biggest thank to you for your travel log with all the "mirch masala"
