Default The wind, bike & heart; Tour De North

Its all about the freedom of life on the road, a personal adventure that leads a biker to the highlands of North Pakistan. I done this trip during the flood of 2010, infact it got flooded in the midst of my this journey. This adventure started with passion, hope, fear of unseen and ended giving experience & memories of good times to be recalled. It also helped me discover myself and taught me lessons to be remembered.

    Some Statistics:
    Days Spent: 35
Distance Covered: 6300km (home to home)

Welcome jesture from a little fellow of the valley. We didn't make him pose like that. It was his move. We just stoped to take a photo of him. So nice of the little angel.

But, I could not see any Roman there? All I could see is 'French'...
Roman Urdu is when you type some thing like 'Yah Kashmiri Bacha Ha, Aur Aup Ko AOA Keh Raha Ha'I think you have confused Roman with French....The bluish words area bit personal though, therefore I am not tempted to answer that.....

Thanks anyway for your informative thread.......and pics

In our way back to Kel, we came acoss two locals riding a Yamaha YB-100. They waved us to stop. In the meanwhile it started drizzling. They asked us if we carrying any extra Sporket Chain Lock with us because their bike's Chain lock was broken. We nodded because before going on this journey i got changed my bike's Chain and Sporkets set replaced with new one. So i didn't seem it necessary to keep it.
We had to left them in that drizzle. We started our bike and went off. Irfan had a deep impact of that and after reaching back Muzaffarabad he bought Chain Lock for my bike to be kept in luggage(tool and stuff) despite of my constant telling that i don't need it. It was care from him in oreder to prevent me from falling into any trouble during the rest of my journey without him. I can't pay back for your care Irfan!!!

Alam bhai you took it personal. I am realy sorry if i hurted your feelings. I didn't meant it though. I was just joking. I think we had developed little frankness in these earlier exchange of messages, based on which i said that just in a kidding way. Sorry again.

@RanaSahib, Many thanks for being a mediator . Rana Sahib my History is a bit hazy, but was't Gilgit, Baltistan part of Kashmir in 1947? Northern Areas = Northern Kashmir?

Are Sheens Muslim? Do you have (known) any printed guide to find Halal food if we visit these Regions & Northern Areas. I only have known Nurestani people..through a documentary about how they conduct maritial ceremonies on PTV GLOBAL...also a region called kafiristan. I will only go there after collecting all necessary information in future...

Ofcourse there could be tens of Languages being spoken in Kashmir (I can't speak Kashmiri) but Geographically it's could be one, like urdu, pushto, sindhi, baluchi languages are regional languages of many(still Pakistani) people. Were you talking about Caste (Kashmiri)...again Kashmir is a multi-caste and multi-Religion Territory with wide Linguistic & Religious diversity....I understand cultural differences are
big issues....aswell...Are there any areas 'best to avoid' for safety reasons?

I am not much into Political Discussions, hence.....Mity Pao...Unfortunately, we belong to a Region in the World where pulling along 4 Directions is a Norm.....

But, Thanks for your kind information.

(Patanahie Farhan Bhai kidhar chale gaye haine tasweeraine upload nahein kar rahay) Sorry for Roman again...
