Default The wind, bike & heart; Tour De North

Its all about the freedom of life on the road, a personal adventure that leads a biker to the highlands of North Pakistan. I done this trip during the flood of 2010, infact it got flooded in the midst of my this journey. This adventure started with passion, hope, fear of unseen and ended giving experience & memories of good times to be recalled. It also helped me discover myself and taught me lessons to be remembered.

    Some Statistics:
    Days Spent: 35
Distance Covered: 6300km (home to home)

Once i went there on a Bedford bus(Public transport) and conducter kept filling its radiator with water after each few turns. FYI that bus just goes uptill Danna Mughlan which is the last settelment. Only on sundays, bus goes uptill Pir Channasi top.
I was afraid that would my bike be able to negotiate that steap ascend with two passengers on it but thanks God it didn't let me down.
Pics of the road to Pir Channasi; not in a good shape.

Its time for me to Jump-in..

The elevation of Muzaffarabad is 2200 feet ASL... and Pir Chinasi is 9460 Feet ASL.

so you have to climb 7000 feet...

The trek and hill top on the top right is going to Pir Hassimar Meadow. which further goes to Leepa via Shisha Mali Top.

I think it is reserved by SCO/Signals as they have some of their communication equipment installed over there; kinda booster/communication tower type of thing.

Zoomed in pic of the dirt track, on the far opposite side of the Neelum river, going to some remote village/valley. You can see a padestrian bridge too. Can you spot a loader jeep in the pic?

Kundal Shahi is the place in neelum valley where one must get filled the fuel tank of one's ride before heading forward to upper Neelam Valley because the availability of gasoline is not sure after this point. So to be on safer side, we did the same.
Reached Athmakam around 70PM(Remember its July).

aoa, Great sharing farhan bhai, the feel of 'freedom" and independance in your thread is very obvious and enjoyful....on the downside you are motivating passive fellows like me to gear-up, purchase a bike and just go out breaking the routines.. ...keep updates coming
