Default Karachi - Haleji Lake - Keenjhar Lake - Thatta - Makli - Bhanbore - Karachi on Bike

After reading @Sulaiman75 twin threads at PW about Bike Trip, I really wanted to just get out of town on my bike. Although it was not possible to go Gilgit-Baltistan or Kashmir all of a sudden, so I decided to head to Thatta District on my 70cc bike (Super Star brand, more commonly known as China) which I bought in April 2007. So this Friday (20th December 2013), I planned this trip with my university friend who is now working in Saudi Arabia and is currently on vacations to home country.

This was not the first time I have taken this bike to Thatta. It was in fact 5th time I was taking this bike to Thatta. But this was the best trip among all the previous ones. The reason it was the best because previously I always got late and was not able to visit all the places that falls on this route. This time, I planned to visit all the following points in the itinerary mentioned below and was successful:

    1) Haleji Lake
    2) Keenjhar Lake
    3) Shah Jahan Mosque, Thatta City
    4) Makli Graveyard
    5) Bhanbore Museum & Ruins

Here is a teaser picture of the trip.

Karachi Haleji Lake Keenjhar Lake Thatta Makli Bhanbore Karachi on Bike -1324156

A detailed story along with the pictures will be coming soon

    - COMPLETED -

Thank you @jadoon1992_vxlimited for your comment. I really appreciate it and sorry for too late reply. I planned to reply to all comments after the thread has been completed but I had to leave for Lahore & then Galyat trip in between so this thread remained unfinished. Today got the time again and now I will reply to all the comments made by PW friends.

    Regarding your questions..
    1) Road Condition: Road condition is not very bad. Its carpeted well but it is a single road as soon as you cross the bridge at FFBL. Watch out for huge speed breakers whenever you are nearing a town or in the town.

    2) Pucture Walas: Puncture walas are available at every town. And all these towns are nearly 15-20 km apart of each other. So not a big issue in my opinion.

    3) Safety Concerns: Frankly speaking, I never had any fear traveling in interior Sindh. People are very friendly and they give you a lot of respect. In Karachi, I will think twice before using my cellphone or camera in public but here I used these things freely with no fear of being robbed or anything.

    4) Things to carry: Nothing much because everything is available in the towns/cities you pass by. However, do keep all the paper work (registration papers, license etc) up to par. Keep a few general medicines like panadol for headaches, small first aid kit etc. If possible also carry your water. I usually do keep water on such trips because I find it waste of money to buy expensive mineral water

Thanks for your comment. You are right about the road within Thatta city. Especially the section of shah jahan mosque is really pathetic.

@Sulaiman75 Sir, Thank you so much for your comment. Its was only your very own thread which motivated me to complete this short trip.

And I apologize for replying to your comment so late. Its because I went to Lahore and then Galiyat. Only got some real time now to complete the thread and to reply to comments.

    Thumbs Up !!!
It's an honor to hear such words from you. I not only got motivated by your trip but was also inspired by the way of narration in your thread. So I had tried to use similar narration skills like you had used. I personally believe that narration along with pictures add 4 times pleasure for a reader. I am grateful to know that you have enjoyed the thread.
