Default Bike Trip to Head Balloki + Rana Resorts [Completed]

    -- THREAD COMPLETED --

Today, on 20th March 2014, I completed a bike trip from Lahore to Head Balloki + Rana Resorts. I am in Lahore since last week and squeezed a day free for this bike trip.

I was with a friend, a fellow PWer @smartsyco We had been planning for a bike trip since my last couple of visits to Lahore but nothing could be finalized before. But this time, it was a success.

The ride was Honda CD70. Camera used is a Canon P&S.

Here are few pictures as a teaser, detailed narrations with pictures are coming soon.

Ahead of food court, the canal widened up. It seemed like a big pond surrounded by eucalyptus trees. It was such a wonderful sight, a boat was placed here too but again it was tied up so we couldn't take a free ride Right in front of that area, there is a ground which could be a cricket or a football ground. It was beautifully maintained area.

Now we got onto the track of motor sports. It was looking beautiful because of fallen red flowers. The camera didn't do the justice with that scene. It was indeed very beautiful. This whole park was filled with lychee trees but at this time of year, there no lychees on the trees We also spotted a 4x4. So I climbed up on it for a photo

There was a small swimming pool powered by a tube well, which was dry at the moment. Then there was a sitting area besides it. Further, there was the track for motor sports. We took its round on our bike, it was a good experience. If I get a chance, I will come here again We left this park at around 5:45 PM and got onto the Balloki Rd again. We wanted to hit the highway before maghrib.

When we were on bike, we saw a beautiful sunset and we were tempted to stop to capture the moment in our camera. So we stopped for a couple of minutes to enjoy the beautiful sunset and wheaty fields. After this small stop over, soon we hit the national highway.

Now, all we wanted was a good tea to freshen up. So we started to search for a good dhaba besides the highway..

We found a good dhaba somewhere near Manga Mandi, so stopped there for maghrib + tea. It was a nice clean dhaba. We had a special doodh patti along with the biscuits and nimco which I brought from Karachi Nothing can beat this combination.

We got into a conversation with waiter whose name was Dilbar Khan. He was a Khyber agency pathan who used to work in Karachi before so he was well aware about Karachi situation. After talking a bit with him. We were going again.

As we were cruising towards Lahore, there was a worst traffic jam somewhere near Chung. Anyway, here the bike advantage came handy and we somehow managed to pass by. At this point I got a phone call from my cousin and he told me that they have just experienced an Earthquake in Lahore. We didn't feel it as we were on bike.

Soon we were on Canal Rd and then through FC underpass, we reached Shadman and then home at 8 PM. Here our trip ended and after saying goodbye my friend left for his home.

It was a wonderful short trip and we explored so much in those 9 hours. Now this bike trip is has increased the urge for something longer *hint hint*.

Thank you all readers and for your valuable comments. Its only your support which encourages me to write in narrative style. InshaALLAH I'll see you soon with a new thread.
