Reached Balakot some time near 1330 hrs. We just had some naan and Chapli Kabab in lunch and moved ahead to Kiwai.
This picture holds thousand tales in it,to be told. Only those people could understand who belong to these areas.
It was 2006 when i made this pic.
Remember the Oct 2005 Earth Quake, it devastated many cities and the most effected was Balakot. The cities of Balakot and Garhi Habibullah had to undergo tremendous destruction again inthe shape of Flash Floods in June, July 2006. Just prior to our visit. This picture is taken facing Backwards while going to Naran. As you can see the widened river bed besides the town. You can also view the concrete bridge in this pic, there was also a wooden bridge behind this bridge which was destroyed in earth quake. As we moved in the city all the houses, shops and buildings were having tin roof tops. no concrete or lintel building survived except one.Which i will explain in subsequent slide.
After the earth quake, the remains were washed away in floods.
