Default Bikers : A doctor and two engineers go nuts in Rainy Hills

Hi there fellas its vickytulla here almost after a complete year when I tagged along last time with @BlueHorn this time a bunch of more PW members decide to go crazy. I .e. @dr.omair and @angel82

on the night of 26th March we went to @BlueHorn to fetch some must have tools for the bikes in tour and he guided us few important thing to keep in mind while riding that plong and we left at 1AM night for Islamabad, took some tea breaks and maintained a speed of 80kmh we were using paiggios and Suzuki for this Tour.

on 27th visited Islamabad and all important places around it (I know it sounds funny but for us lahoris Even Islamabad is a new place to visit not to mention I never visited the Pakistan museum ever before or the Islamabad monument so please bare with it )

on 28th we left for Neela Sandh as guided by @12gauge but lost the path in midway so decided to go to muree express way and reach murree and then move towards Nathya Gali later thandyani.

But Allah mian was planning different this time . and we ended up staying at murree due to heavy rain and returning back the other night to Lahore.

For Omair and Uzair it was a first trip even on bikes and I didnot wanted them to be 'Not' enjoying it so we reduced the tour in order to keep the enjoyment factor to the fullest.

    Rest Pictures would speak.

    Enjoy

Good trip folks. People remember journeys which are done in hazardous conditions more than the one in normal condition. It is an excellent trip keeping in view its done by adventurers coming out of Rwp/Isb, who are prone to going in this weather.

Ya Habibi you didn't tag me in your thread.
Just saw your signature and came to know about this thread.

Awesome trip and photography is superb.
The RP with fat tyre is looking wild and chick magnet though
Dream is not that which you see while sleeping it is something that does not let you sleep.

Congrats to you all on making such a memorable bike trip.

I have been lately thinking of buying a bike for myself, maybe to relive my college days and experience the freedom a 2 wheeler can offer opposed to being capsuled inside a 4 wheeler.

Can you pls share your experience of GS150 and how it performed during the trip. I have read a lot of -ve reviews about the machine but I can not seem to put this bike out of my mind and still fancy to buy the 2014 new model. Do you think it would be worth the purchase. Resale value is not a consideration. I believe it would suit to my 6 ft frame. Maybe 01 day I may join you gentlemen in your next 2 wheeled endeavor.......

    Regards

reha you are more then well come, GS150 is a perfect choice for a tall person and has a very good Power to weigth ratio ....

My advice would be that please understand that is a pakistani bike and not tested untill its handed over to a customer and "may" have some basic faults like losen nuts and bolts bad paint quality cad Chrome or may be not preoperly assembled engine ...

So I would advice you to take somw sound friend who has a spent some time with a GS and he can check one or two units of GS150 in show room and indicate you wich one you must prefer ...

once bike is in your control and you remove any intial faults(bad assemblings) and which is kind of a fun .. then this bike is going to spend some Good time with you on long tours..

I dont own one but I checked it, 125cc bikes are no match its a Very Very Comfortable Cruiser.
@dr.omair can give some guidance on this ... he will be back on Pakwheels after few days..

    Hi Waqar,

Thank you for your reply. It will definitely help me make the right decision. I understand minor assembling issues would be present and hopefully fixed under the warranty. I just hope no major problems occur like oil oozing out from the head or the gearbox like with some unfortunate owner accounts I hv come across on PW.

Afterall if I intend to take the bike for a long ride, a break down in the middle of nowhere on a deserted highway would be the last thing I would want and turn a dream ride into a nightmare. I can deal with minor issues but a blown up engine would be too much.....having said all that, yet the GS150 is a temptation i can not resist.

    Thanks
    Rehan

    Hello Rehan,

Good to read about your passion and temptation. These engines don't break down so easily until you really highly abuse them i.e. rev on high rpm for longer period of time or doesn't care about its temperature during long rides. Otherwise there won't be an issue Inshallah. as @vickytulla said earlier. Once you are done with break in period, removed all its initial problems and driven about 2,000 km on it in city. You won't be facing any issue on long route as well

Thank you all for your kind advice. I will inshallah buy the bike this weekend and share pics. I like the new grey color but then i think will settle for the black as it looks more classy. Any idea where i can get good quality accs in Lahore like custom indicators and mirrors with chrome accents and of course a reliable helmet. Thanks.

Yes for panniers and saddle bags Vohra autos is a good shop... but IMHO the helmets are a bit expensive being indian as singpporee Avex sold by makhdoom are almost same quality or in some cases better enginnered .. (remember te wind noise problem reported by many riders) its no way possible in avex..

But yes Panniers are Way too Cool .. men tu jab bhi Vohra ki shop per jata hon panniers dekh ker dil machal jata hai
