Many people jumble up KKH and Silk Route. Silk route was an ancient route used by merchants that existed in <b>Multiple countries and even Multiple Continents.</b> A part of this route was in Pakistan too, called "Kinu Kutto". It was widened for a single jeep travelling in 60's and at a time only one Jeep could travel, for crossing, one had to get off the road, just like Train Crosses. Where as KKH was built by Pak-China in 70's.
Since Silk route is no more in use after construction of KKH, this route is abandoned. A part of this "Old Silk Route" is preserved for history references for people in our and after ages
