Thread: Motorbike tour to khunjerab pass and deosai plains from Islamabad

    Default Motorbike tour to khunjerab pass and deosai plains from Islamabad

    Assalam o alikum all
    alhdulillah i along with 3 freinds have completed the tour to khunjerab pass and deosai plains.
    Special thx to Mr. Rizwan_mir and other members of this forum for valuable suggestions and expereince feedback.
    we started our tour on satuarday after eid and completed on next satuarday.

    day 1. islamabad to naran
    we had a plan to reach chillas, we left at 3 o clock but due to traffic and some ither issue we could reach naran.

    day 2. naran to kareemabad
    we were already late as per plan and again we faced petrol shortage which tooks too much time at gilgit. so we had to travel at night. we reach karimabad at about 12 at night.

    day 3. karimabad to khunjerab to gulmit
    as per plan we had to be at gilgit but we were tired as we didnt have proper sleep the night before. all hotels were booked

    day 4. gulmit to astore
    as per plan we had to reach sheosar lake or chillam choki on day 4 but due to fuel shortage we had to stay at astore.

    day 5 astore to sakardu via deosai plains
    this was the toughest and most tiring day. we started late because we had to get a slip from assist. commissioner office for fuel. we enjoyed deosai plains and spent too much time and then we had to travel last 35 km in dark.

    day 6. manthoka waterfall and shighar
    we started late as we had to get our bikes checked and oil change. we visited both these points and came back to same hotel.

    day 7. sakardu to jaglot
    as per plan we had to reach chillas but we spent more time at shangrilla and upper kachura lake. also road is dangerous at some points so we drove carefully and reached jaglot.

    day 8. jaglot to islamabad
    return journey is always boring so we decided to do it in one day. we started early in the morning and reached home at about 11.30 pm dead tired.

    my suggestions to those who are planning a tour on bike
    1. always get some practice to change tube as removing tyre is not as easy as it seems. we faced problem on first day.
    2. take exra fuel with you
    3. do not plan on rushy days like eid or any nationak holiday
    4. after mid july moonsoon starts and rain can block roads. so consider weather situation always.
    5.keep a cushion on your bike seat

    MaShaAllah. Congrats for completing the tour. Detail perh k to lagta ha k koi pic bnanay ka time bhi nhi mila ho ga but i'm sure bohot si bnai hon gi... or definitely experience acha hua ho ga.

    اسلام وعلیکم آپ کے ٹور کی تفصیل پڑ ھ کے تو تصویروں کا شدت سے انتظار رھے گا. باقی ٹور تفریخ کانام ھے. ناکہ بائیک دوڑانے کا ھمیں اس بائیک ٹور کو ھر پہلو سے یادگار بنانا چاہیے.

    thx bhai. fuel shortage, traffic jam aur humari chussain(jaica k bag bhool jana jub stop lia to...tube badaltay huay braje hub ka nut tyre mai chor daina aur phir adhay ghantay ke talash k baad sirf agli brake pai slowly mechanic talash karna...pump guma daina etc etc) . humara tour poora hona hairat ke baat he hai.
    we enjoyed driving a lot, its feels fanrastic to drive on kkh and deosai. bht bht maza aya. however now i think k sakardu to kkh road was at some turns very dangerous and a little mistake of yours or other can kill you.
    also me and my freind fakhar usually do trekking and camping tours , deosai mai camping aur kuch paidal chalnay ke chah reh gai...
    photos hum bas har tour mai chand he khainchtay hain. koi special camera mahein bas vohee mobile ka.

    sir bilkul theik keh rai hain.. deosai bht yaad a rha hai mazeed time guzarna chaheyai tha but chutti he itni thi. baaki enjoy b bht kia. mushkilaat b ain. laikin shukar hai k tour achi yaadoun k sath he end hua. warna nakaami ka talakh yadeein bht tang kartein.

    ws hum 3 bikes pai 4 log thai . jid pai 2 thay vo delux thi. chalnay mai to koi masla nai hua. bad thakkan ho rai thi jo peechay baithta tha ucko.. baki clutch plates check kra laina jane ce pehlay

    brother how was the road condition from babusar pass to chillas? how much time a bike need to go from babusar pass to chillas? i think after chillas road is good but not good from babusar pass to chillas.

    babusar to chillas road is perfect. about 1.5 hour max. road from chillas till raikot bridge is not good. its about 70 km. then after road is very good
