So you're claiming it to be a 'waste of time' just because of your hypothetical ''this can not be true'' sensation? You see cars on the road and think ''yaar ab to har aik ke paas garee aa gayee hai'', and start believing it in its literal meaning.
There are 3.6 million vehicles for 170 million population. That is something like 2%, which means 20 per thousand. (2009 data)
Now this includes the vehicles which are not fit to travel on the road (almost 30% according to The Nation). It also includes the quinquis and rikshaws and motorcycles. Do the maths and you'll find that it is not that big a waste of time as you think.
