Pak vehicles to run on ethanol!

Pakistan is on verge of a breakthrough in fuel technology that can as well enable Pakistani vehicles run on ethanol rather than petrol.
According to The News, Pakistan is apparently all set to acquire technology of utilising crushed sugarcane after sugar production for producing ethanol, a combustible chemical that can easily replace petrol.
Pakistan and Brazil have also reportedly mutually agreed to closely work on manufacturing of ethanol from sugarcane in Pakistan for automotive fuel. Brazil has cutting edge technology in ethanol manufacturing and most of cars in Brazil use it as an alternate fuel.
The report further states that Pakistani officials also met officials belonging to the Brazilian Centre for Sugarcane Technology where the latter briefed the visiting Pakistani side on their production and technological infrastructure and showed willingness to collaborate with Pakistan.
Pakistan's Commerce Secretary Tasneem Noorani also met the Brazilian Secretary, Foreign Trade, Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Mugnaini Mario, who on his part assured his Pakistani counterpart to look into the possibility of transfer of technology to Pakistan with regard to the production of ethanol.
