SHC orders AOGC to be included in PSO qualified bidders’ list
ISLAMABAD: Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered the inclusion of Attock Oil Group of Consortium (AOGC) among the qualified list of bidders relating to the privatization of Pakistan State Oil (PSO).
Earlier, the Privatization Commission (PC) had disqualified this company from the biddings to be held on May 5.
AOGC Regional Chief Executive, Shoaib A Malik told Geo News that his company wanted to participate in the scheduled biddings for the PSO privatization and necessary application was submitted to the PC in this regard, but it was disqualified for the biddings without giving any reason. He said that his company had sent a letter to the PC and its financial consultant company, J. P. Morgan, but it was not replied.
Shoaib A Malik said that a petition was filed in the Sindh High Court making PC and J. P. Morgan respondents and praying for an order of prohibition against the biddings. The Superior Court, while issuing the order of prohibition in this case, ordered that AOGC be allowed to participate in the upcoming biddings for the privatization of PSO and no such action be taken against this company in future also.
