^ I've owned every Civic that rolled out of Atlas'es plant. More than a decade later I can tell you I'm delighted with the quality. My 05 EXi (not with me anymore)-- had a couple of defects, like the door moulding needed to be glued properly but that was about it.
As far as Citys go, we've owned about 3, all of the current generation. One in the initial shape and two in the facelifted shape. The Steermatic has a couple of quality issues with the door panels rattling; aside from that I cannot find a flaw.
At the same time I'd like to mention that yes- I have owned Hyundais, Suzukis and Toyotas. Corolla had one of the best best build qualities back with the "Indus" shape but it had its fair share of issues like door rattle noises, screws left in the door panels (literally causing annoying rattles).
Keep in mind, such flaws occur not only in our country but in all countries including USA. Since I frequent a few Honda forums, the USA model of the 8th generation Civic has plenty of issues, you can find out by Googling
