Its not really a Hyundai vs Honda thread, but since you've asked why Honda fans like Honda, here are a list of innovations by them. Feel free to pitch in the ones you think make Hyundai stand out.
These are just off the top of my head:

Honda T360

Nice output for a TINY engine from so long ago
Honda Civic
Emissions laws in the US during the 1970’s meant American carmakers had to fit expensive converters – the Honda Civic had a unique CVCC engine design which made the car more efficient and cheaper than others.

Honda Prelude
The 1987 Honda Prelude was the first passenger vehicle in the world to come equipped with four-wheel steering – meaning the rear wheels would steer fractionally, aiding agility.
VTEC
I dont need to say much about VTEC? I think VTEC is always a reference when it comes to dynamic cam profiles in modern engines. It inspired many similar systems that are in use by automobile manufacturers today.
Honda Jet
Not too many automobile manufacturers of Honda's size can boast of this.

Honda NSX
Legendary sports car, considered one of the premier supercars of Japan.
Quote from Wikipedia:
Honda's breakthrough engineering in the NSX was a major contributor to the design of the McLaren F1 as mentioned in an interview with McLaren designer Gordon Murray. [4] "The moment I drove the NSX, all the benchmark cars--Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini--I had been using as references in the development of my car vanished from my mind. Of course the car we would create, the McLaren F1, needed to be faster than the NSX, but the NSX's ride quality and handling would become our new design target." The NSX was also the world's first all-aluminum and aluminum monocoque chassis production car, and was also marketed as the "Everyday Supercar" thanks in part to its ease of use, quality and reliability, traits that were unheard of in the supercar segment at the time.

Also:
We have to understand kids on this site insist on defending Honda just for a few laughs. They cant be taken seriously. Why? Because it doesnt make sense to put a economy brand up on a pedastel like they do.
I don't think anyone mentioned the word City or Civic here, we're talking about the brand as a whole. Let me know if you consider it a "joke" to think Honda is anything but one of the most innovative brands of the world.
