Default Engine Swap Finally Done in B12

    Hi Pakwheelers,

Hopes all of you doing great. It took me long time to decide engine swap in my Nissan B12, but Alhamdolillah it is completed now with the help of you guys and specially thanks to Mr Danyal @dani_kk from Rawalpindi who helped me alot in understanding Nissan Engines.
I finally decided to get rid from GA15DE and go for QG18DE in my B12. First of all I tried to find out a nice QG18DE in Peshawar, shoba bazar but unfortunately I didnt find any Chakaas Dana . So i discussed with my mechanic Zahid Ustad, who is really very intelligent and have alot of know how about engine swaps. Together we went out in the local market and met with electricians also and finally come to conclusion that it is better to go to Rawalpindi and do the swap there.

Journey Continues .... I will come up shortly with PICs and updates.

@star2 I had changed my 2nd oil today in Islamabad, I dont know much about Oil but last time I put GULF 5w20 Ultra Synthetic oil which I now replaced at 3000 km. This time my cousin forced me for Kixx PAO 5w30 which he is already using in his Toyota 5AFE. The oil is changed by a detailing shop named SHIFT in G9 Karachi Company and he was telling that its summer on the head and 5w20 is extreme thin for that hot weather. So he also said that Kixx PAO is the best oil for you.

Further I am planning to change the gear Oil because I am feeling some sort of power loss and I am assuming that It must be because of Gear Oil because the power loss only feels in 1st and 2nd gear, in the rest of gears it booms.

Any Opinion regarding this will be highly appriciable.

Slight lag in lower gears is usually due to Clutch plate. As Clutch plate provided my scrappies is like 5-6/10
I always purchase new Clutch plate for that purpose.
When Clutch starts slipping. Your car slightly lags in first and second.
    And gets weaker and weaker.

12k kms? on this 3l sump? you'll kill the poor engine very soon. 5k seems more sensible. i change out oil at 15k kms on mercedes benz but it has a huge 9L sump.

Ahmad Raja is right though - oil quantity also matters. 12,000 kms is a bit too optimistic unless you have some extreme filtration system in the engine and your oil has some really high TBN.

I have used that oil and its just a regular 10W40 with added mos2, its jet black in colour, seriously i found LM products to be expensive and not giving the real bang for buck, when you can get oil from shell caltex etc in cheaper price and better oil too. i remember using one back in 2014 it used to cost 3900/4L but wasn't worth it. I drained it out at 5k and got shell helix ultra fully synthetic 5w40 which was around 3600 or so and it was really nice oil but again due to filtration constraints i could stretch it to max 8K kms. on a small 4cyl engine going 12-15k kms is abusing your engine simply.
