Default Engine Swap Finally Done in B12

    Hi Pakwheelers,

Hopes all of you doing great. It took me long time to decide engine swap in my Nissan B12, but Alhamdolillah it is completed now with the help of you guys and specially thanks to Mr Danyal @dani_kk from Rawalpindi who helped me alot in understanding Nissan Engines.
I finally decided to get rid from GA15DE and go for QG18DE in my B12. First of all I tried to find out a nice QG18DE in Peshawar, shoba bazar but unfortunately I didnt find any Chakaas Dana . So i discussed with my mechanic Zahid Ustad, who is really very intelligent and have alot of know how about engine swaps. Together we went out in the local market and met with electricians also and finally come to conclusion that it is better to go to Rawalpindi and do the swap there.

Journey Continues .... I will come up shortly with PICs and updates.

    @dani_kk

also you are misguiding qamar again here by saying mushtaq will demand 30k or so. No he will not, as far as qamar has updated him of the issues he is getting with the engine he has given to him, why would he not be compensating him? I can understand anywhere between 10-15k, but don't think more than that. Poor man has not driven his car with peace since the engine in I guess.

and how he is going to run AC on this erratic idle and ETB? enlighten me.

I'll just say always research before putting something under the hood.
I did research, geared up my QG18de well. I had no experience of etb and heard from people every second car coming these days is etb powered. But definitely they are having complete things.
Well i have a different link with mushtaq, a business link you can say. Don't want to go in details. But yes you're right these scrap yard people are no one's friend. I'm just mentally preparing qamar bhai that he might ask for this amount.
Rest depends on mushtaq and qamar bhai's discussion. @star2
If etb is such a hassle I'm amazed how is my chacha's b14 running fine?
It has etb powered 1.6 nissan engine.

    It doesn't have a meter
It has never been put on a scanner.
    Not a single part replaced.
    Running fine on ac.
    And it is giving around
13-4km/L on local and on long 17-18km/L.

    No issues at all.
And swap and wiring and everything was done by mushtaq and his guys.

    Maybe my chacha is lucky?

its not like one is lucky and one is unlucky. in most cases, even with un-calibrated ETB car would do just fine in moving forward and backwards, it is just that when you put into "D" it starts moving like anything and attain a speed like say 15 km/hr without pressing the pedal. In other cases, it can go completely dumb at intervals like qamar is having the issue and in some cases, it just don't respond to the pedal. So every case is different. must be based on facts what we are discussing.

My rough guess on qamar bhai's issue is pedal sensor.
    He should get that checked.
Because malang wired that pedal sensor in a hurry like 10-15mins late at night. After calling him from evening and he showed up quite late.
Maybe after replacing the pedal etb goes in the mode, like my chachus b14 is in. And mushtaq won't charge for that pedal sensor replacement. Qamar bhai can drive the car for a day here and see the difference
If it still does that then decide something else.

@star2 @dani_kk Onething more, I see there is a wiring grip just hanging near the gear box, which I think is for VSS. When I asked malang for that grip he said it doesnt matter. My current meter setup is normal wire coming from tranny and there is a sensor installed at its back in the dash.

I guess that if i install the VSS and connects the grip may be from there ECU gets the signal that CAR is running and becomes possible for ECU to control fuel and other things because right now ECU is blind and doesnt know that CAR is running or not.

But if this is the case then why it not shows the VSS sensor missing code ... May be that grip will be for A/T setup.

    @star2 yes.
Like you're telling you geared up one etb 1.8. You had a good experience and you seem pretty technical. So these alteration things are never successful if a car owner is a learner.

So throwing huge amounts of money on getting scanner, etb's, meter and etc.
It's better to get this thing out.

It's a very simple rule of etb's if it's configured properly it is love...
If it isn't, it's piece of junk..

That grip was to be hook up on the auto gear i think.
But trust me if you had gone for auto too it would have been a greater hassle.
Can you post a picture of that hanging grip?

the reason you do not have VSS in your gear from mushtaq is that your meter is not compatible with VSS sending out voltages. I think B12 has a simple meter with a mechanical wire driving it!! update me on this.

Person like you qamar bhai needs hassle free engine.
This engine has turned out to be a greater hassle.
I'll recommend, tie up a reasonable amount with mushtaq return him the old engine and spare etb and everything.
Get a wire driven 1.8 engine or a lesser, upon your interest.

He will get it swapped and electrician charges him around 1-1500 for wiring so if he agrees on 15k or like that it would be very good.

hahaha.... yes checked it and trying to make things ready for it. As far as electricals are concerned, those are going good. It comes with a CVT transmission as well as manual. First priority is for manual, as I personally do not like autos, and finding a complete package somehow. Will post some pics in my own thread...

@star2 @dani_kk I checked the wire grip in the hood, it is for VSS and not for A/T.
Star2 can we have a meeting in Pindi? I am reaching there tomorrow evening Insha Allah.

    Be ready.

do one thing, instead of these little engines - why not shove a VQ35DE in your sunny and be REALLY HAPPY

you would be able to tune the wheel rpm during burnout with your right foot - imagine that fun
