Nokia Has Sold Over 10 Million Touchscreen Smartphones In 10 Months
Despite being launched just three months ago, Nokia's eagerly anticipated addition to its Nseries family has already has already crossed the 2 million mark. The phone and its hardware specifications caused different reactions among users. While some argued that phone is underpowered, fails to live up to expectations and fails to carry out the claims of the advertisements, others claimed it to be the best Smartphone since the mighty Nokia N95. Well, there really is no right or wrong answer to this question as it really depends on the personal needs and no matter which group you belong to, you have to admit that Nokia's best 5th Edition Smartphone did really good so far! The company claims that "phone has been received very positively" and that numbers have "surpassed company's self-imposed expectations"!
Nokia N97 has clearly been a big success and may well prove to be Nokia's biggest profit driver in the second half of 2009, especially considering company has managed to gain more sales of the N97 at launch than of its ex best selling smartphone, the long serving N95.
Nokia chief executive Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo said: "We have a unique position in the smartphone market. Nokia is the undisputed leading player in the smartphones space."
The company added that it has sold a total of 10 million touchscreen phones in 10 months, which means that Nokioa has sold 8 millions units of its less expensive 5800 XpressMusic which is great achivements for company’s first touchscreen device base don the 5th editioin.
