Hello,
I am a considerably new member, but not new to the website, have been coming on it for close to a year now perhaps.
I did a quick search on the forum and could not find a thread dedicated to Open Source (if I am mistaken, please feel free to link me to the correct thread).
I am sure like the majority of the people around the world, many of your are Microsoft Windows users and a small majority of you might use Mac's, and hopefully a couple of you have dedicated yourselves to open source. The point of my thread is to spread awareness, help others, and learn as we go about investing in the true potential of open source.
For the past year or so, I have been a strong user and supporter of open source products, from my phone which runs an android, to my computers that run Linux / Ubuntu's, Since they're open source that in turn means that they are free as-well.
Many people are still unsure about using these products for primary use, but I have been using them for about a year and I have yet to meet a hurdle I haven't been able to tackle.
Just to start the thread off I will be posting a very easy method of anybody who is curious about using a linux based system on a "vmware" system, which basically means it will be another active operating system while your primary one is still running in the background. I will keep updating the thread with relevant news as I keep getting them, from updates to general news, and will help out users with screen shots where need be. Please feel free to ask any questions regarding any android problem you may have been facing, and I'll do my best to answer, in the mean time I'll be compiling some stuff to get things going.
Regards.
