I just bought an iPad 3 from Lahore. And its more expensive in uk (New iPad - Buy the New iPad with Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi + Cellular - White or Black - Apple Store (UK)) vs (iPad - Pakistan). The iPad is good for browsing the Internet, you tubing and emailing. It's not as good as an android ( I am comparing this to a Samsung galaxy s2,function wise.. And yes, I know that u can't compare a phone with a tablet, I am comparing apple OS with android).... There is no such things apple warranty in Pakistan, it has not been officially launched here and the official distributors of apple ( raffles company) don't even sell iPads.... Laptops are too heavy to carry and as mentioned before, they need charging regularly whereas the iPads battery lasts a day or 2 depending on usage.... I suggest your mother get an iPad, my mum bought one too and it meets all her needs..plus it has a very simple user interface and its very easy to operate..lBuy the 16gb wifi version from a store you trust in your locality and don't buy the original ipad cover ( Chinese copies cost 900 & the original costs 7000!)... I can't recommend android tablets cuz I have never used them... But from what I have heard, they have battery issues ( Samsung tab) but you should read detailed reviews about those before buying one.
