It appears to me that you were doing part time teaching (i.e. as visiting lecturer) rather than full time employee of a good university. Teaching is a good and noble profession, but to get accepted on permanent basis is quite competitive as supply significantly outnumbers demand. You could continue in the teaching line (where your industrial experience would be added advantage) but I would like to tell you very clearly that Pakistani education system is quickly moving to a direction where PhD will be a minimum criteria to get assistant professor and further promotion.
I am not an expert in finance so cannot advice you on relevant courses for firms/industry. The only thing I can tell you is that teaching is getting quite competitive too..particularly in any decent university. Should you want to adopt teaching, your best bet is to get permanent position in teaching in some good university, and start working (in-service) for your PhD. After PhD, there is growth and they pay is much better and you can earn your PhD while doing a job. This is from my own experience as I am in that line.
if you prefer the industry, forget the above advice and do what others related and qualified people tell you. Just one thing...to be successful you'll have to the best in whatever you do. There is no degree whose mere acquisition can earn you a guaranteed automatic good salary unless you're good at what you do.
All the best.
