I am using a Haier one. It's great. Locally made I think, so spares are cheap.
Never ever go for those front loading ones, especially if Maids are going to use them.
First of all- It's like jumping from a Donkey cart to an Airbus A380- Too many buttons. Even if you do explain to them the basics, they will still fiddle with all of the buttons. " Oye, aa battan ki karda we " and bam, one day it will refuse to spin.
2nd- It consumes electricity like ****. Most of them have a built- in geyser/heater to warm up cold water, expect an electricity bill, going upwards next month.
3rd- Spares. These things spin at more than 1200 RPM's, if not taken care off....well.
4th- They spend too much time to wash clothes, yes, I know that it dries them as well, but in a place like Pakistan, where it's too hot, who needs a drier? Just hang 'em on a plastic rope, wait 10 minutes, voila.
I usually dump 2 packet of Ariel ( 10-/ rupees each(H)), let it dissolve for 1-2 minutes ( Settings- Standard, spins in both direction ) then I just dump in the clothes. After 5x rounds of 15 minutes, get a big bucket and rinse, then leave for drying.
Enjoy! #Localbrands!
