@ Fuhrer
I would start with the quote of Hazrat Ali (R-A), from the famous narrations known as "Peak of Eloquence". One I came across was "Failures are often results of timidity and fears and disappointments are the result of bashfulness".
To say that one never makes any mistakes would be equating your self to the Almighty. We all know thats not possible. There is this famous 17th century English poet, Alexander Poet's quote; "To Err is Human, To Forgive is divine". This sums up the nature of humanbeings. We all make mistakes and in such get lost from our path by not owning upto our weaknesses and only God is perfect and therefore also forgiving of our shortcommings.
This ties in with your earlier comment about cleaning up one's own mess. I definately agree with that. Its stupid not to own up to your own mistakes. How else can a person improve. If a person thinks he/she is perfect and never realize their mistakes, the only person that suffers is that person and if the whole society thinks, acts like that and never realized their own mistakes, then that society becomes corrupt and a miserable place to live in.
I usually don't like quoting America, but it somehow creeps up in my discussions. I see people here, that NEVER like to boast of their own achievements. They may be geniuses but they are so humble. The more learned and highly educated a person is, i.e. professors with Ph D. and other high level degrees that I have had a chance to talk with, they always sound so humble and so down to earth and almost all of them always appreciate the students who approach them and ask them for advise. THEY never act arrogant or boast of their achiements. In other words, they are following exactly what our great scholars have taught us 1000 plus years ago, (Reference to the quote of Hazrat Ali I mentioned earlier).
While we are at this topic, let me also clear one point. I appreciate everyone, Women, Men whoever, specially all my teachers and ofcourse teachers come in both genders. There were great ladies and gentlemen that have taught me so I respect them regardless of their gender.
Its not the gender or color of skin that matters, but how a person utilized all their God gifted faculties to the best of their abilities.
Everyone has different experiences and it all culminates from the vantage point they were part of. No one is better or worst, everyone thinks differently, and the thats the beauty of it all. The diversity of opinions and the freedom of agreeing to disagree. But this two has to be done systematically.
In a culture where everyone has there own self made opinions and always disagree with what other has to say, that society never makes any progress, I think we all know unfortunately which country's culture that is.
Sorry for such a long reply, when I start typing, I just can't stop.. LoL..
