Default Mercedes Tune up etc in Islamabad

Howdy folks, hope everyone's well. I've recently moved to Islamabad, and don't know of any good / reliable mechanics who can work on a 91' Merc. I obviously want to stay away from Shahnawaz, so would be very grateful if someone could point me to a reliable merc mechanic. Just have some basic works to get done!

    Appreciate the help!

    Regards

    Aasim

You need a shop that has an exhaust analyser, pressure gauges to check the fuel line pressure and residual pressure. - do not try to adjust the fuel distributor without the analyser otherwise you will be shooting in the dark.

The K-Jetronic system is quite simple but can become really a PITA if you dont have any tool to actually "see" whats happening. Ask for this Haji sb, and if he does not have the basic pressure gauge setup - look for someone who has.

I am writing this because I have seen many K-Jetronic car owners in Karachi Pakistan suffer from excessive repair bills because "famous" mechanics were shooting parts at the car trying to fix it. Anyone with a set of torx and hex bits is not a benz mechanic.

Thanks xulfiqar, for the advice. Problem is, i don't know ANYONE here in Islamabad (just recently moved here), so am hoping that someone here on the forum can point in the right direction. Have spoken to Haji sb, and will check him out tomorrow, if he has the pressure gauge, then okay. Also, it seems that 'Tuning' is a pretty vague term.

What i'm looking for is an easier startup (it's taking long self's) and a bit of missing early on in the morning.

There are some pathans in G-10 markaz who work with old benz models. But they are the ones who have plenty of old parts in peshawar and around, and they do hit and trial a lot. They are good if you need to find any part. i can try getting number as well if you want.

By your last statement your "tune up" should be testing of the fuel accumulator and pressure regulator.
