Brother I respectfully disagree with you on this one.
All I was trying to say is that it is not the Jetta which is sharing components with Audi A4 built in Germany.
I have driven both the Jetta in Toronto and Oxford UK and these are two totally different machines in dynamics.
If u get under the car of UK model Jetta you will be surprised that is has a multi-link independent rear suspension.
Pop up the hood and another surprise Euro Jetta has semi hydraulic or electro hydraulic power steering like GTi versions.
The plastics used and door panel trims also made from soft plastic.
While the engines are in another league compare to the ones available in NA.
The euro 1.4 TFSI engine is DOHC 16 Valve configuration with direct injection and a combination of turbo and supercharger which produces 7 more HP and 22 more ft-lb of torque compare to the US 2.0 L Model which is ancient 8 valve SOHC design.
The Golf however has the same premium materials as used in other markets.
That is why a full size 3 box jetta sedan is available for around 15 grands in NA markets and the entry level 2 door golf is 3-4 K expensive.
One more thing is why would anyone not buy a Mercedes CLA 250 at the same price or would buy VW groups own Passat for 10 grands less compare to FWD A3 sedan.
Not to mention that BMW 1 series and Cadillac ATS are also similarly priced which are way ahead in technology and dynamics.
